To provide a discreet but good-sounding background audio system that is easy to use, aesthetically pleasing and compact.
CONCEPT
A background audio system is used, which requires little space and has excellent audio reproduction in the form of four 4FW50T speakers. These are strategically placed to provide even coverage. They are also paired with a single 8SM-300T subwoofer. This provides a rich extension of the lower frequencies. This combination provides a hi-filike listening experience at an excellent value. The subwoofer is hidden in the serving area and the full-range speakers are mounted high up outside the walkway. This makes the system barely visible.
The speakers are driven by a single 4SDL160 four-channel amplifier configured in 2.1 mode using its internal crossover settings. This is installed in a compact rack enclosure along with a VLA42 for basic audio playback functions. The optional JUP2 rack kit is specified for the VLA42. This means that the entire playback system is housed in a 3U flight case. This gives catering staff access to a hardwired, portable media player.
