CHILDREN´S LEISURE FACILITY

Objective

A dual zone background music system with a reception-desk mounted emergency microphone. The two main areas are the main children’s play area and a smaller soft play area for younger children.

CONCEPT

The main children’s play area featured a total of seven 6FP100T full range loudspeakers powered by two 4SDL160 four-channel amplifiers. As per the specification, a PAA42 media player was installed thanks to its long list of capabilities including USB audio replay, manual and timed advertising jingle replay, multi-zone outputs and dual priority microphone inputs. A further two 4FW50T loudspeakers catered for the smaller children’s play area and are fed by a single 2SDL70 power amplifier. The optional JUP2 rack kit was supplied with this amplifier to make it 19” rack mountable.

As per the client’s request, volume levels are set on the PAA42 media player as access was limited to staff members, however the PAA42 offers remote control should the system be built upon in future. The reception area has a single desk microphone for emergency broadcasting and the installer internally configured the PAA42 to mute the audio whilst allowing the microphone signal to stay live. Such feature is automatic when connected to a compatible evacuation system.

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT

• Emergency broadcast microphone situated at reception
• Audio source must cut out with microphone remaining live when evacuation system is active
• A smaller children’s play area must broadcast the same audio source as main play area
• All equipment must be racked in a separate secure room with reception staff having access to microphone only.
• Media player must have USB audio input and have auto-advertising material playback
